All it takes is a rethink
When Keen decided to rethink their approach to sustainability, they realized there were small opportunities all around us. Literally. Keen looked at their factory floors, at the aluminum molds, rubber trimming, even soda cans, and they saw more than scraps – tear them up, melt them down, and put them to use as something new.And it's just the beginning, one of the small steps we can take toward a world where we think first. We call it Hybrid.Think.
This season, Keen are rolling out Hybrid.Think in a number of ways. It's in their new packaging, the 100% Hybrid Box. It uses biodegradable materials, natural water-based latex glue, soy-based inks, and weighs 25% less than the old box, reducing labor, power and fuel in shipping. Best of all, it easily collapses for recycling.
Their new bag line, Hybrid.Transport, features recycled aluminum and rubber reclaimed from our shoe factory floors.
Sometimes, all you need to do is rethink your options and all sorts of new possibilities appear.
