This is my favourite jacket. I have been testing it all year and it's just great for running on cool days or when it's raining but a full waterproof would be too sweaty. It's the perfect cool weather, active gear: windproof, breathable and lightweight with inset stretch panels and a DWR finish. Wear alone or over a lightweight baselayer for aerobic activities. FABRIC: WINDSTOPPER® Soft Shell
The next generation of WINDSTOPPER®. Featured in Mountain Hardwear's Transition garments, this three-layer laminate-an extremely breathable, windproof membrane sandwiched between a moisture-grabbing brushed polyester inner and a moisture-wicking jersey knit face. Fitted close to the body and sealed by Lycra® at hems and cuffs, a Transition garment creates a microclimate next to the skin. As you exercise and heat up, the temperature/ humidity differential between this interior microclimate and the outside air creates a driving force that pushes moisture out through the membrane as vapor. The next-to-skin microclimate is small in volume so this driving force is extremely efficient, and moisture is driven out quickly.
